Simple at-home eyebrow tinting
Do you dream of beautifully tinted eyebrows but don’t want to spend a fortune at a salon? Fear not! Become a pro at home with our step-by-step guide for flawless eyebrow tinting.
Step 1: gather your supplies
Make sure you have the following items on hand:
- Correct color dye
- Oxidant
- Mixing bowl
- Spoolie or brush
- Petroleum jelly
- Facial cleanser
- Cotton pads
- Optional: tint remover
- Optional: timer
Step 2: prep your face
Thoroughly cleanse your face with facial cleanser and pat dry. Brush your eyebrows into shape using a spoolie.
Step 3: apply petroleum jelly
Apply petroleum jelly to your eyebrows and areas around them where you don’t want the dye to reach. This will prevent staining of the skin.
Step 4: mix your dye
Follow the instructions on the dye packaging to prepare the dye. Mix the dye with oxidant as directed.
Step 5: apply the dye
Using a spoolie or brush, apply the dye to your eyebrows, ensuring all hairs are evenly coated. If desired, set a timer to ensure both eyebrows have the same processing time.
Step 6: let it set
Allow the dye to develop for 5 to 10 minutes. Check periodically to ensure the color isn’t too dark. The processing time may vary depending on your hair type. Use this time to clean up any stray dye if necessary.
Step 7: remove Excess dye
Remove the dye using a cotton pad soaked in water. If any dye stains your skin, you can use tint remover to gently wipe it away. The remover only affects the skin’s color, so you can use it over your eyebrows if needed.
Admire your beautifully tinted eyebrows! With just a few simple steps, you’ve achieved salon-worthy results from the comfort of your own home. Enjoy your gorgeously colored brows!
